Continuing Professional Development Program 2019

The proposed CPD program for the AMA is intended to cover mediation skills, practice and specific content areas. The CPD workshops will be identified as either skills sessions or speciality sessions to assist in selection. The program will appeal to mediators from all different disciplines.

26 February 2019: (5.00pm – 6.30pm) NMAS : What is it? Why do I need it?

This webinar will identify the important aspects of NMAS Accreditation and why it is important for mediators to have accreditation. It will also discuss the Mediator’s Standards Board , its resources  for mediators. This webinar is  for anyone who is an accredited mediator and wants to know about their ‘profession.’

Mediation refresher #1: This webinar will cover defining mediation and how it fits along the ADR spectrum. The different models of mediation will be identified and how they can assist in resolving different disputes. The focus of this webinar will be on the facilitative mediation model, what it looks like and the participants will be walked through the stages of the process and strategies and tips for working with the model will be highlighted.

In the facilitative mediation there are some strategies that can assist even the most difficult party to move . This webinar will look at these specific strategies and how to use them at various stages of the mediation process and what impact they may have.
