Gillard strips Native Title Tribunal of dispute mediation role

THE jobs of more than 30 people charged with helping to resolve native title disputes could be slashed as a result of the Gillard government’s decision to gut the Native Title Tribunal of its mediation role and hand it to the Federal Court.  This move has been seen as short-sighted” and warned it could further delay resolving native title claims.  Read MORE.
