South Africa’s Mbeki in Sudan to Mediate Peace Talks

Sudan and South Sudan, being hostile for a long time now, is being pushed back into negotiation by Former South African President Thabo Mbeki who was in Khartoum and trying his best to intercede between the two parties.  Acting as mediator for the African Union, Mbeki “is encouraging both sides to put proposals on the table on the key issues that have divided the countries,” said Johnnie Carson, U.S. assistant secretary of state for African affairs.  Read MORE.
