Valerie Norton
Valerie has a B A (Sociology), B Psych (1st class Honours), Grad Dip in Mediation & Family Dispute Resolution Certificate in Child Inclusive Practice and Clinical Masters in Family Therapy from La Trobe University and the Bouverie Centre in Melbourne. She is a registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) and Nationally Accredited by the National Mediation Accreditation System (NMAS). She has been recognised as a leading mediator in the Doyles Guide since 2020.
Working collaboratively with a range of professionals including, lawyers, financial advisers and other counsellors, Valerie ensure the best outcomes are achieved. She is accredited by the Attorney Generals Department to provide Family Dispute Resolution to issue Section 60I Certificates.
Valerie sits on the board of Collaborative Practice (NSW) Inc. and is a member of CSCF (Central Sydney Collaborative Forum), The Resolution Institute (LEADR and IAMA), ISDR (Institute of specialist Dispute Management), AMA (Australian Mediation Association), AACP (Australian Academy of Collaborative Professionals) and IACP (International Academy of collaborative Professionals). She also coaches and assesses candidates for National Mediation accreditation at the College of Law and Relationships Australia.
Combining her study in psychology, family therapy and business experience with a desire to help people in crisis, had led Valerie to work as a mediator with people who are separating or have extended family, business or work related issues. She also works as a child inclusive practitioner, supervisor, collaborative communication coach and family therapist. Valerie is passionate about resolving conflict in a calm, professional and caring manner and avoiding the horrors of extended litigation.
